A Boat, an Island, and a Bunch of Shattered Dreams
Welcome to the world of “Paradise and Hell” – a film project that doesn’t tell tales of polished heroes, but of people stuck in the cracks of life. On the Greek island of Leros, where the sea scatters salt into wounds and the lockdown exposes the absurdity of everyday existence, outsiders, refugees, and broken souls collide.
Today, we invite you to meet the hearts of this story: the characters who turn Leros into a microcosm of human extremes.
Who Are the Faces Behind the Chaos?
- Frank, the former software developer who traded algorithms for rusty hull plates – and learned that freedom is often a corroded anchor.
- Leila, the Iranian musician whose flute battles the silence of exile. Her melodies are a cry for help, suffocated by the PIKPA camp.
- Raphael, the charming ex-millionaire who fills his emptiness with Alpha Beer and sarcastic quips.
- George, the anarchist with a knife and a dog, torn between protection and self-destruction.
- Robocop, the policeman in mirrored sunglasses – a walking bureaucracy machine that criminalizes picnics.
Why These Characters?
Each of them is a mirror of our own contradictions: Frank flees rules only to break new ones. Leila seeks freedom, yet her asylum hangs on paperwork. Raphael laughs loudest when he’s bleeding inside. They’re not heroes – they’re survivors.
